Wow, cool!

Except...how do you expect me to scrub this information from my mind, considering that I know that the world was only created about 6,000 years ago, as told by the Holy Bible?

This gives me brain farts, and I cannot accept solid evidence that refutes something I have chosen to believe because an ancient manuscript written by desert-dwellers says so.

Seriously now...

Clearly carbon dating and other dating methods are misunderstood and falsely used. All "ancient" fossils found in the earth today (including dinosaurs) are clearly described in the Book of Genesis if you read it the right way. Those creatures were simply not included on God's "save" list to Noah, and therefore were washed away in the Great Flood.............

....................except the one creature above, who floated on a huge log until the waters subsided, and is my direct ancestor on my father's side. God scribbled that note in the margins of my Bible at home.

What i find most boggling, well i cant decide what is more boggling... either the fact that this was discovered in 1983...and just now is reahing our eyes/ears.. i mean.. like how much longer were they going to sit on this? OR the fact that the original discoverers.. slit the fossil in to seperate pieces... I MEAN REALLY? I am sorry but splitting a fossil it just seems ...irresponsible.. I understand there are some fossils like the shells of some old skoolsea dwelling mollusks and crustaceans might be more in abundance, and thus have more than just 1-2 specimens to gather info from, but I am led to believe that Ida here, is a one of a kind.. and if She is a one of a kind NOW she sure as sunshine was a one of a kind in 1983....Soooo.. what were they thinking? did they just SERIOUSLY not trust eachohter to not run off with the bits? Well regardless, this is extreemly interesting, and I would like to know more...

Hey you're right! I see that in my Bible too!
Man....can't believe I missed that.

I guess dinosaurs were just another one of God's "mistakes". Like all of humanity before the flood. The beta-version of humans turned out to be a bunch of hedonistic a-holes. Whoooops!
Thankfully the flood wiped the planet's harddrive so he could install Humanity 2.0 - slightly less hedonistic, just as big of a-holes!
And now, prepare yourself for the long awaited firmware update.....on 2012.....prepare yourself for.......
Humanity 2.5! (sorry, 3.0 is Heaven)

You know the Bible is the installation guide, right?
As some people LOVE to explain, B.I.B.L.E. stands for:

Woo-hoo!

As to why this fossil is just coming out, it seems that it was discovered by a pair of private "fossil hunters" (aka treasure hunters), and the discoverers split their "treasure" between them. Ida was therefore kept secret in some rich guy's personal collection for many years. It apparently turned up in 2006 in Germany at some sort of scientific "fair" and was on sale at the bargain price of $1 Million dollars. The scientists who "rediscovered" Ida have been studying it in secret for two years, and have just recently published their research and brought Ida out into the open in serious grandeur.

There is a little fish smell to this whole thing. Looking forward to seeing what happens as more scientists and anthropologists get access to studying this fossil (my great ^50 grandmother).
