Granted you don't get credit for the courses, so no degree but many colleges including MIT, John Hopkins, Yale, and Princeton are making podcasts, lectures, coursework, additional notes and even entire textbooks available for free online.

I'm personally going to start taking California State's conversational Mandarin course... So much free information at our fingertips, these are amazing times.

Same thing as in taking Mandarin as well (if so I found I liked MIT's course better - video lectures)or taking some classes???
I found several on audio engineering too!

Ha, no not taking Mandarin as well (good luck with that by the way!) I meant the general idea of learning all of this freely available coursework. If they're gonna offer that stuff, then it's a fantastic source of information and free education. I'm definitely down with that.

That's awesome. It will give me something to do for the summer when I'm not in college. I wonder why exactly they are offering these courses for free? Is it like free advertising? And if so, why haven't I heard about it? I guess I'll just have to look into it a little. Or just ignore it and take advantage of all the free stuff.
