Here's an article about how Saudi Arabia is about to tap into one of their last untapped oil fields, which will enable them to slightly increase their overall production.

The headline on the front page of MSN.com boldly declares: Giant Saudi field could mean lower gas prices in U.S., wooo, good news, right?

And then nowhere in the article AT ALL do they even mention how, when, or even if this would in any way affect gas prices. Don't you find it irritating when you get lured into a story because of a blatantly misleading headline?!? I wanted to know by how much this might lower our gas prices and when that might begin to happen, buuuuuut they don't discuss that at all.

You can still read the article yourself if you want though

"Consuming nations have pushed Saudi Arabia to boost production capacity even further and also want the world's top oil exporter to begin pumping more crude immediately to bring down record oil prices hovering near $140 a barrel. They say oil production has not kept up with increased demand, especially from China, India and the Middle East".

The above paragraph from the article is the author's explanation as to why tapping into Saudi's oil field will bring down prices. Although, I don't know how true it is???

Riiiiiiiiiight, too bad at this point all that could happen is a slowing of the increase in oil prices, possibly slow down the rate of the upward climb, but I don't think many people realistically at this point expect gas prices to go down....

Interesting how the era of 'cheap gas' ended SO quickly isn't it? It seems intuitively like it would have been a slow steady climb up, but in the last two years it just blasted upward. Gaahhhh...
